With their theoretical thinking and analytical mind, Indians have a global presence. They are patient by tradition, good listeners and quick-witted.

The Indian press has a reputation of being among the best in the world, which is evident in the professionalism displayed by Indian journalists. Indians are media savvy and exposed to various forms of media. Investigative journalism has become very important in India.

One such example is the sensational and controversial “Tehelka” case where investigative journalist Aniruddha Bahal and his partner Mathew Samuel spent seven months posing as arms dealers and exposed senior Indian officials and army officers accepting bribes.

In an unprecedented operation in Indian journalism, Bahal paid bribes exceeding US$21,000 to key ruling politicians and senior Indian military officers to lobby for non-existent weapons, secretly recording every transaction.
