Range Rover Celebrates 10th Anniversary and the Evoque Is Tops in the Awards

Current Range Rover models reached their 10th anniversary in 2012, so parent company Land Rover decided to produce three limited-edition Range Rover models to celebrate the occasion.

The three special edition Range Rover models are named TDV8 Autobiography, TDV8 Westminster and V8 Supercharged Autobiography, which until now were only produced for export for the US SUV market.

The new TDV8 Westminster will replace the Vogue-trimmed Range Rovers currently available in the UK. New features will include a wide range of luxury additions and special finishes. Notable features include: Westminster vehicle badges, 20-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, uniquely styled grille and side vent trim finisher. Inside, buyers will find illuminated door sill plates, unique luxury carpeting, cooled and heated front seats, the new “Dual View” front info/navigation display, plus a supreme audio system. 1200W Harman-Kardon LOGIC-7, which powers a 19-speaker layout.

Supercharged Autobiography and TDV8 Autobiography models come with the special Range Rover Design Pack as standard; these offer a similar range of external and internal features, as well as unique paint design options for buyers. These are definitely great new models to watch.

Meanwhile, Range Rover’s baby, the Evoque, is racking up even more awards and accolades around the world. Since the launch of the Range Rover Evoque in September, Land Rover’s cool new SUV has well and truly kept the company on the map and always in the headlines.

The Evoque’s string of accolades included ‘4×4 of the Year’, crowned by UK magazine 4×4. Other major accolades received over the past six months include US Motor Trend SUV of the Year, Scottish Car of the Year, UK Car of the Year ‘AutoExpress’ New Car Honors , the BBC TV show Top Gear’s Car of the Year, Car and Driver Spain Car of the Year, the Design Trophy de l’Automobile in France and a host of accolades from Chinese organizations and publications.

The successful Evoque has exceeded all of the automaker’s expectations and is far more environmentally friendly than any previous model, with superb fuel economy and CO2 figures for an SUV of this size, which is much better suited to the urban driving than many other SUVs in its class.
